The DES-1018MPV2 is specifically designed to facilitate easy connections and supply of power to devices such as access points (AP) or IP cameras and phones. The DES-1018MPV2 features two operating modes: Isolation or Extended mode, each with their own use cases. If both modes are deactivated, ports offer 10/100 Mbps PoE connectivity as standard, with ports 1 to 8 prioritized to optimize the port cache.
Prevents port-to-port communications, permitting ports 1-16 to communicate solely through uplink ports 17-18, where strengthened security measures are necessary.
Extended PoE mode
Have a device situated far away? The Extend mode facilitates long-range power delivery by enhancing ports 9 to 16 to supply power to devices that are situated far away.

To help balance the budget, the DES-1018MPV2 supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE). This feature detects network activity, automatically putting unused ports to sleep and powering them on as required.
