Consider the following when purchasing a gaming monitor for your PC:
G-Sync or FreeSync? Only NVIDIA graphics cards can take advantage of G-Sync, whereas only AMD ones can make use of FreeSync. While you can technically run G-Sync on a FreeSync-only monitor, performance isn't guaranteed. FreeSync monitors are usually cheaper, but they offer relative performance.
For image quality, TN < IPS < VA. TN monitors are typically the fastest and cheapest but have the weakest viewing angles. IPS monitors have slower response times but better colors than VA monitors. VA monitors are the best for gaming if you care about contrast, but they also have slower response times.
Refresh rates: bigger is better. The refresh rate is the number of times your monitor updates with new information per second—stated in hertz (Hz)—and, therefore, how many frames per second (fps) it can display. The higher the number, the smoother the picture. This is especially important for gamers, so you should seek a monitor with at least 75 Hz (most gaming monitors offer at least 144 Hz) and the lowest response time possible.

A new gaming experience with OLED panel
The Alienware 34 QD-OLED is an excellent gaming monitor and one of the few to earn a great score from us. The OLED panel is perfect for PC gaming on this monitor, and it's no wonder. While this monitor isn't flawless, it has several gaming-critical advantages over LCD-based monitors.
Its HDR modes, HDR 400 True Black and HDR Peak 1000, are both outstanding. The 3440 x 1440 resolution photos it produces over its gentle 1800R curve are colorful and vibrant. With 99.3% coverage of the demanding DCI-P3 color range and a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, this display does well, but only a small fraction of it may achieve such brightness levels.
That said, the in-game image has a lot of depth, saturation, and clarity thanks to per-pixel lighting, but this OLED screen really needs to be in HDR mode to perform at its best. Even in HDR Peak 1000 mode, which enables a maximum of 1,000 nit performance in small areas, the image generally looks less vibrant and punchy than it usually does.
If you want to connect your PC to a high-end gaming monitor, you should get this monitor.
We didn't notice any issues with this 175Hz monitor, but there is no doubt that if your gaming enjoyment and success rely on having the lowest possible latency, you may want to consider a faster screen. In addition, you can only achieve the full 175Hz with the single DisplayPort input. The Alienware 34 QD-OLED's response time is extraordinarily fast at 0.1ms.
This monitor is not the best choice for console gaming since it does not support HDMI 2.1. However, if you want a monitor for PC gaming, this is the one for you.
4K at high speed
LG's UltraGear is the first 4K Nano IPS gaming monitor with 1ms response times and quick frame rates that will properly show off your supercharged GPU. With NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD's FreeSync adaptive refresh compatibility, this slick, slim-bezel design includes LG's Sphere Lighting 2.0 RGB visual effects.
That buttery smooth 144Hz is pretty remarkable when combined with the sharp detail that comes with a 4K pixel grid.
It does experience a little characteristic IPS glow, but you can only notice it if you're looking for it on the screen edges when looking at darker scenes. This is not a big problem most of the time, but the HDR is a little underwhelming since, to be honest, 16 edge-lit local dimming zones do not create an actual HDR panel.
What's most impressive, however, is the Nano IPS technology that provides a broader color gamut and outstanding color fidelity.
LG's default calibration is nearly flawless, with excellent blacks and whites in addition to being impeccable in terms of image quality on the Windows desktop. Beyond the strict metrics, it is a very vibrant and punchy display.
It's just as impressive to hop in game on 144Hz. We will never get tired of the buttery smooth goodness. However, the incredible detail of the 4K pixel grid is pretty remarkable when combined.
The LG UltraGear 27GN950-B provides gorgeous IPS image quality on a great panel. Despite having fewer HDR capabilities, it still generates beautiful colors and contrasts for your games. G-Sync ensures stable pictures and smoothness, and the rapid refresh rates and response times support this.
This is one of the best monitors available, although it lacks HDMI 2.1 and USB Type-C.
Say goodbye to ghosting with FreeSync
There's no need to spend a lot of money on an IPS 1440p display, as the G27Q proves. Gigabyte's 27-inch monitor, which costs around $330, includes a lot of desirable attributes, but most important is that it offers rich colors and smooth gameplay.

The Samsung 49-inch Odyssey G9 is one of the most extreme monitors on this list. This panel will completely fill your field of vision if you're standing two to three feet away. Nonetheless, we usually prefer Adaptive-Sync over motion blur reduction with monitors of this price. For example, there is no blur reduction. You may not also receive any speakers or a framerate counter. You shouldn't encounter motion blur issues if you have a sufficiently robust graphics card. With stellar image quality and a tremendous amount of speed for an ultrawide display, some sacrifices are well worth making.
MSI Optix MAG274QRF
Enjoy your games at full color
The MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD is the best gaming monitor for an RGB setup if you want your games to look extra colorful. After calibration, it measured a color gamut of 112.19% DCI-P3, the highest measurement we've ever recorded. This monitor is saturated with colors, so 90% DCI-P3 would be remarkable.
Some color purists will lament the absence of an sRGB mode on the MAG274QRF since its sRGB coverage is 166.33%. Its backlight strobing for combating motion blur is also a letdown. Because Adaptive-Sync isn't supported, the brightness is lowered by about 50%, resulting in ghosting that creates a parallax effect with fast motion. In addition, this is yet another gaming monitor that provides HDR without any noticeable picture improvement over the standard dynamic range.
Best Dell gaming monitor
Many gamers consider the Dell S3222DGM to be the best gaming monitor. This boasts a 32-inch VA panel, QHD resolution, and a 165-Hz refresh rate with Adaptive-Sync support. Other benefits include 85% DCI-P3 coverage and a 1800mm radius display curve.
Dell really knocks it out of the park with the S3222DGM's contrast ratio. VA screens are famed for their excellent contrast, but the S3222DGM achieves 3,000:1, easily topping IPS competitors.
With no need to scroll to see all of the screen, this 32-inch monitor provides 1440p resolution and ample vertical screen space. Although the S3222DGM is designed primarily for gamers, we believe it is also an excellent choice for general productivity and everything in between.
Despite the absence of HDR, the S3222DGM's excellent contrast is difficult to beat at this price point, and its overall performance is excellent. Dell's usual high-quality build is also included, making this a superb monitor for gamers looking to build a mid to high-end PC.
LG UltraGear 38GN950
The most versatile gaming monitor
You'll find it challenging not to be amazed by the LG UltraGear 38GN950. Suppose you want the most effective gaming monitor. In that case, this one will be tough to beat, with a 144Hz refresh rate that may be overclocked to 160Hz, 1ms response time, outstanding picture quality, and many other gaming functions like G-Sync, an ultra-wide aspect ratio, and DisplayHDR 600.
If you want a lot of screen real estate and are serious about gaming, this is one of the most fantastic gaming monitors to obtain - if you can afford it.

A portable monitor has always been a novelty. Whenever you see one out in the wild, it's usually attached to someone's boring work laptop and displaying mind-numbing spreadsheets. Portable monitors give you a second screen during travel without the hassle. The ROG Strix XG17AHPE combines the portability and the premium of a gaming monitor with performance.

Since gaming monitors can vary from 24 to 50 inches, you must choose one that meets your budgetary and space limitations. An ultra-wide gaming monitor might be a good option, but it won't be suitable for everybody, so you should consider what size monitor you prefer and then make a selection.
An ultra-wide monitor has an aspect ratio of 21:9, whereas a standard monitor has an aspect ratio of 16:9, making the ultra-wide monitor horizontally oriented. You can see more of the in-game environment on an ultra-wide monitor than on a standard monitor, which enhances your immersive experience while gaming.
